Work Experience Spotlight: A Week with Emily

We were pleased to welcome Emily, a 6th Form student from Glenlola Collegiate, who has joined the team at Ards Business Hub for her work experience placement during the week commencing 9th June 2025.

When asked about her time at Ards Business Hub, Emily commented,

My time on work experience was an incredibly valuable and eye-opening opportunity. From day one, I was made to feel like part of the team, and I quickly found myself learning new skills, gaining confidence, and understanding more about how a professional environment works.

I took on a variety of tasks and made sure to approach everything with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Whether I was helping with day-to-day duties, supporting team projects, or simply observing and asking questions, I always tried to give my best effort and make the most of every opportunity.

One of the things I enjoyed most was seeing how the different parts of the business come together and being trusted with responsibilities that helped me grow. I’ve developed better communication skills, improved my time management, and gained real insight into the kind of career I’d like to pursue.

Overall, this experience has inspired me and given me a clearer idea of what I want from my future. I’m really grateful for the chance to learn from such a supportive and experienced team”

We’re delighted to support the development of local students and enjoyed helping Emily build valuable skills during her time with us.

Rethinking Social Media for Your Business

Social media, for all its complexity, is not really about algorithms or posting schedules or finding the perfect hashtag. At its core, it has always been about connection. And the businesses that understand this – truly understand it, not just as a nice idea but as an operational principle – are the ones that build communities, not just follower counts.
