We Are Hiring: Business Research and Admin Assistant

Location: Ards Business Hub, Sketrick House, Newtownards 
Employment Type: Full-time | 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 hours

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct market research to identify new markets, customer needs, and industry trends. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential clients and partners. 
  • Handle client enquiries and provide timely and accurate information. 
  • Research funding opportunities for clients.  
  • Provide administrative support to the business development team, including scheduling meetings and preparing documentation.  
  • Assist with the marketing of business support services.  
  • Help develop and implement business development strategies.  
  • Collaborate with business advisors to generate leads and close deals.  
  • Represent Ards Business Hub at industry events and networking functions.  
  • Prepare monthly reports on business development activities and progress.  
  • Undertake other relevant duties as required.

Essential Criteria: 

  • Strong interest in business and administration.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).  
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.  
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.  
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.  
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English or Maths, grade C or above.

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Studying towards or recently completed a Business or Administration qualification. 
  • Experience with data entry, research, or administrative tasks (e.g., through school projects, part-time work, or volunteering).  
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets and basic data analysis.  
  • Interest in market trends, business development, or customer insights.  
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.  
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
