What is the story of your journey into business?
I was fed up working for other people and always wanted to be my own boss. After my brother went self employed I got him to show me how to fit flooring so I could do the same.
Tell us more about your business.
I supply, deliver and fit all types of hard flooring from laminate/ to real wood.
Who would you say has offered you the greatest support in your business journey?
Ards Business Hub – their 6 steps program was a excellent source of information and support.
What goals do you have for the business 3 years from now?
I would like to open a shop in the Comber area.
How did your experience on the 6 steps programme help you on your business journey?
It was a very useful source of information. Having the knowledge there to point us in the right direction and able to ensure we are on the right path with our goals set out and business plan explained. Having that knowledge at those early stages took off a lot of the stress and pressure of starting out.
If you could offer advice to anyone thinking of starting a business, what would it be?
Get in touch with Ards Business Hub or their local Go For It teams. It is definitely worth attending one of these courses, even if you’re just thinking about starting a business – attending this course will help you decide.
